Default help with bushings

Ok. I've been having clunking noises when going over bumps. Now I think i narrowed it down to the Radius arms or the twin I beam axle bushings... not sure though. How do check that and how do you change those out if that’s the prob. 1994 ford eplorer sport 2wd

Jack the wheel off the ground and wiggle it. See and hear where the slop is. It's likeley to be the ball joints at the ends of the I-beams. Wiggle the brake pads also, the groove may be worn. As far as fixing the problem; the first tool you should buy for any vehicle is a Haynes manual or some such publication.

In reading your other post it sounds like it is wear in the groove that your brake pad rides in. I have the same problem on my '93 and I think that I am going to fill the worn area with some weld and file the grove back in. I temporarily remidied the problem by hooking a large rubberband around the ends of the pad and stretching it over the caliper. Cheesy but it's been quiet for a month.
