Default HELP! Thermo Stuck at Cold/Check Engine Light

My Thermostat is stuck at cold, never moves no matter how long the engine is running. Also, the Check Engine light has been on. Could these two things be related? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I mean 4.0L, as you can see I have no idea what I'm talking about.

The code will be for engine not at expect temperature. Replace the T-Stat with new and the code should go away. If it does not go away unhook the battery for a minute or so to clear the codes... If the codes are real they will come back.
