Ford Explorer This long running SUV has stood tough against the barrage of new entries into the mid sized SUV market, and with a variety of engine sizes and trim lines, the Exploder offers something for everyone.

Default Noobs lack of Knowledge

I have a 99 explorer sport with the 160 ohv engine ( to my dismay). I am wondering if it is possible to do an engine swap to the sohc with its 210 horsepower engine. The ohv and ohc engines seem really similar on paper ( I know why the ohc is more powerful though). So I was wondering what it would take to swap them or rebuild the ohv with ohc parts to get it to 210. Finally, is there any aftermartket parts that can get it at least up to 175-200 horsepower? This is just a noob wondering if the potential is there, even if the money is not.
