Passenger Window????
Hi all,
I have a 02 Explorer 4wd power windows... and my passenger side window doesnt work anymore.... Ihave noticed at night when the lights are on in the car, and i go to try to roll down the passenger side window from either on the driver side or the passenger side button, the light on the power window button goes out but then comes back on when not trying to roll down the window.... and i dont hear any noise from the window motor at all.... any idea's...?
Thankx,

RE: Passenger Window????
Hi there. i havent had your problem in my 2000 4wd explorer yet, altough my passenger window operates slowly. But Ive fixed a few cars with that problem. I believe that the light going out in the button while its being pressed is normal. But to fix the problem take off your door panel. In my explorer there are two screws by the door handle and there is one underneath the red reflector on the door panel. take thoses screws out then pry off the door panel. Be sure you have about 12 door panel clips handy because in my experience the ford clips are not usually reusable. so once you get the door panel off, find the window motor. then use a rubber mallet or a dead blow hammer and smack it pretty hard a few times, even if you cant get to the motor with a hammer, hit the metal that is in front of the motor. it wont fix it forever, but it worked on a mercury sable i fixed for about 2 years. The motors dont usually make any sound when they die. so id guess you have a dead motor. let me know how it goes.
