Default Rear Window Hatch

I am a new forum member who just bought an Explorer. Does anyone know how to fix the rear window hatch on a 99 explorer sport automatic? The latch inside the door is stuck and wont grab onto the window to lock it. the rear door will open and close but with the window not locked anyone can open it and unlock the doors with the rear switch. Can it be fixed, or is there a way to tie it down so that it cannot be opened?

So just spray it in there and use something to try to tug it out? If that does not work, is there any way to tie the window down inside?
