hey guys not really a tech question here but rather id just like to hear some advise/ideas on this explorer i have been working on. i have rebuilt the 4.0L engine and i have wired brushed ,rust converted, primered and painted the whole frame and all underbody components as well as the engine, trans and basically eveything you can imagine painting on a SUV. Here is where id like some ideas on finishing the explorer from the pics you see here and the colors i have been useing already what do you guys think i should paint the actual outside of the SUV. I was thinking to just finish in some like hot rod black paint but then again i havent really given it much thought. I would like to here any ideas on paint color and or designs/graphics i dont really care if it looks real flashy on the outside i think all i will be useing it for is pulling my boat and maybe during bad snow. any ideas would be appreciated thanks guys

I'm going to have to say go with black...A deep shiny black...that is of course if you love washing your car. Becuase with a black car, you wash. Alot. I'd stick with the RED/BLACK Theme. Go ahead and paint your calipers red as well.

 

well it looks like i will be going with the black paint job after all. thanks for the input goose and i agree black is bad azz but like you said its going to be alot of washing to keep it looking that way. I have recently found out i have several hundred dollars worth of work to do to my boat, so it looks like the paint job for this explorer will probably have to wait now. I think this explorer project will be taking a trip to the back burner till after fishing season is over.At least its running and drivable again i think the last time this SUV was actually useable was back in 2000. well at least that what the sticker said on the plates when i bought it.
