Had my 2002 F150 Harley Davidson Supercharged 5.4 into the dealership for some work and was told I needed a new fan belt (accessory) and as long as they were in there, replace the supercharger belt. Each belt costs approx. $65, but when they told me the total cost would be around $350...??? I said 'Why?'. They said 2.5 hours labor.. ???

They are telling me that to remove the accessory belt on the supercharged motor, they have to remove the one of the crankshaft pulleys, which requires removing the starter so they can lock the flywheel to remove the pulley. Also, there are are the brackets that hold the supercharger idler pulleys that have to be removed, etc. Has anyone had this experience? Really? Ford designed in this expensive belt replacement issue?? I did some surfing, but have not found any comments about this, which is surprising if this is really true. Thanks for any feedback. B.A.
