I have went with bosh platinum 4 spark plugs, (i think thats what they are called), they were supposed to help. Air intake kits, exhaust kits. Can you chip the 5.4? Everything you do costs alot of money, and thats money you could spend on fuel. Tough call.

Cold air intake, upgrade exhaust, performance chip, re-gear the front and rear diffs to more fuel-economical (but then you lose your Get Up-n-Go), synthetic oil and lubrications (tranny fluid, diff fluid, etc.), lose all the extra weight your carrying (for example: do you really NEED to run on 35-inch boggers every day or could you get by with 30-inch street tires? And the tool box in the back with the full compliment of tools. Etc).
There's alot of things you can do to increase fuel mileage, but the question really is what are you willing to lose to get it? Every change costs something; from up-front cost to down-the-road costs.
