Default 2 wheel to 4 wheel

I am looking into converting an 85' 302 EFI 2wd to a 4wd. I have come across a rolled 85, 351 4wd (for a couple hundred). I am unsure of the tranny type, but know that it was recently rebuilt. My question is about the feasability of taking the axles (all in good shape) and tranny and transfer case and installing them on by newly rebuilt 302. What are you thoughts? any help would be appreciated!!!!!

I don't know. Normally I would say just buy a 4x4 but if you have all parts and the money or know-how I don't see why not.

on nother foarm i use some guy did it out and its just as cheap to buy a new 4x4 truck then to mod a 2wd cause your still going to have 2wd suspension and diffrent things like that you might be better just lifting the rolled cab off and adding you 2wd cab to that fream just my two cents thought

If the frame on the 4X isn't tweaked Y not just swap bodies. '85 to '85 would relativly easy , I swapped an '86 cab over to an '84 chassis. the biggest problem I ran into was F.I. to carb ,had to swap cab harness.

There is more then likely a kit for the driveline at a company called advanced adapters but i wouldn't bother doing it.. just swap the cab over it's more hassle then it's work just my 2 cents though

Yeah i got an 82 F350 4x4 and an 84 F250 2x4 but the body on the 82 is shot and so im recently putting everything from the 82 driveline in the 84. But about halfway through i figure you would be better, cheaper (factory built) to just buy a 4x4, but good luck!

That could be so expensive and so hard it would probably be better just to buy a new truck. If you were to do it i would say take the body off put in the transfercase at the end of the tranny, then you need a new front axel and probably mounting brackets, two new driveshafts plus all the wireing and levers that go up through the floor.
