Default 2004 Ford f150 5.4l crank but no start

Hello I recently got a 2004 Ford f150 for free. I'm looking to get it started and driving again so I can continue making repairs on it(needs alot more work then a no start). The trucks starter will crank and on rare occasions it sometimes starts for a few seconds but shakes a lot. I've tried a few things to try starting it put new gas in tank, bypassed fuel module for a test, confirmed fuel pump is making a priming sound during start, reset fuel inertia switch, I can also smell gas when trying to start it. I got a fuel quick disconnect gonna check fuel filter, I'm still working on getting help to remove heavily rusted box to check pump itself.

Just a little reminder, If the fuel pump is working, we don't know how good or bad, but if it is working at all, that means there could be fuel under pressure in the line from the tank up to the engine. So be careful before disconnecting any fuel lines and expect fuel to push out once the line is disconnected.
Today's gasoline is not good to get on your hands so if possible wear some type gloves to prevent that. If you notice most techs in various videos are wearing gloves. There is a good reason for that.

Any other things I should check that will cause a no start?

An automotive engine need some things in order to start and run and they are fuel, air and spark at the right time to ignite the fuel mixture. There are various tools available to check for the correct fuel pressure and spark. As long as the air filter is not restricted , air is usually too much of a problem.
From what you described, , it sounds like you have those available. Suggest you remove one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet or dry. That can tell us if we are getting fuel. Let's see what we have before going further. What are the conditions of the one or two plugs removed ,wet or dry ?

Have you checked your OBD2 codes yet. You may have slipped a timing chain, this would cause the problem your describing. I just rebuilt the top end on mine for the same reason.

A compression test will reveal if there is a mechanical timing problem.

I did an obd2 test with forscan, it said P0345 code pending. I rescanned it again now it says Thiers no codes, or pending codes. No dtc codes reset either.

Pull a plug out and check if it's wet or dry. A wet plug could be a sign that you've got fuel making its way in, but maybe the spark's gone AWOL. Dry plug? That's a clue that despite smelling gas, your injectors might be stingy with the fuel supply.
