Arrow 2006 F-150: A few issues...

Hi,
New to the forum, hope these questions haven't been posted yet. I tried to search but found nothing.

First of all, I have a 2006 F-15 FX4 SuperCrew with 5.4L Triton engine and automatic transmission. I have bought the truck used a year ago and have hand a few minor issues. I am on a pretty tight budget these days, I have 3 kids (3yo, and 1yo twins) and the wife is out of a job so if I can fix a few things myself to save a few bucks, that would be great!

1. When it is below freezing (I live in Canada...), I hear a sqeeking sound when the motor is running. The sqeek does not seem to change sound with the rpm, pull will stop momentairly if I give a quick jerk on the gas pedal.

2. I changed tires to brand new Michelin Wranglers with Silent Armor (forget the size exactly, but they are the 16 inch and the other 2 numbers match the original and the door sticker). All is well, except that my speedometer is off a few km/h (about 5%) when compared with a GPS. Anybody know how to adjust this? BTW, I have checked the pressure.

3. Sometimes, when I brake while I hit a bump, such as a rail road crossing, my "ABS" light turns on. It stays on until I shut down the engine and clears when I start again. BTW, my brakes are new (entirely) on 4 wheels. Don't know if it is normal, but the ABS seems to kick in easily since I had it, but this is my first F-150 so I can't really tell if it is normal or not.

Thanks in Advance,

Daniel

1.) I think we'd need more info on this. I've had engines do this (live in Wisconsin) when it is bellow freezing and it seemed to go away when the engine warmed up. I always thought it was cold belts squeeking until the engine and belts warm up enough.

2.) You would have to get a programming device to tell your computer that the speedometer needs to read differently. Many of them will let you enter the tire size in and the computer will adjusta as needed.

3.) You may need to have your ABS system looked at. The light shouldn't stay on.
