Default 2006 F-150 Regular Cab

Hey all. Just got my new F-150 regular cab. I am in love. I was a Reanger driver previous to this truck and I am in awe as to how great the F-150 is. I was wondering what you all had to say about the 06 F-150?

Keep on FORD truckin.....

I recently got one and it is to die for. I have a 2006 f-150 extended cab. I am changing to this coming from a 89 bmw beamer so it is such a change! I mean I am going from pretty much riding on the orad to seeing over the tops of cars. I love it and cant get enough

any of the post 2004 f-150's are excellent trucks, they changed the lower valance/foglight location and other minor changes on the '06, but it's basically the same truck as the '04. Hopefully enough people ask for and ford responds and puts there new 6R transmission in place of the 4R75 that has been the current trans in the f-150's since the early 80's. I know it used to be called the 4R70 but the 4R75 is the the same basic box, now they all get the stainless rivited **** pot on the clutch, they all get the glass bead treated gears in the plant assy., the pump has a different spring/retainer assy. and they put some teeth/cutouts on the steel clutch plates. Maybe a different converter or main control here and their, but the trans in the '06 is for the most part the exact same as the trans in any '85 f-150, crown vic, van...ect. The new 6R that is in the '06 explorers is the way of the future, it's just too bad they don't offer it in there best selling truck or any other of there vehicles that would benefit from replacing the 4R75 to the new 6R. I'm sure the cost is a bit higher, but who wouldn't be willing to pay a few hundred extra upfront to save much more than that in the long run with there fuel milleage that the 6R provides, expecially with todays fuel prices? Maybe it's just me, but ford needs at least offer the 6R as an option on every vehicle that currently uses the 4R75 trans. The quality of the 4R75 is the best it's ever been, but you cannot live by that the 6R is the future, hopefully someone that can make a difference understands that!

Wow, you sure as hell know a lot more than I do about trucks. The one thing I can tell you is that the Trans in my '06 is a lot smoother than what I had in my 97 Ranger (when it was new). I would agree with you that if they have them in the Explorer's why don't they put them in the # 1 selling truck in America.........????
