So I refered to this fourm when I continued the journey of installing crusie control on my base model 2010 Ford f-150 XL.... After dicking around with it for about 8 months I got it to work.... I bought a steering wheel with cruise installed it... Went everywhere trying find a dealer that would do it and everyone told me no.... I became friends with a mechanic that works for Ford and allowed me to stand by and watch and together we figured it out....
the ECM does need be flashed by ford the steps are as listed below....
Once the programming software is open
1. Module Programming
2. Programable paramaters
3. Speed Control
4. There will be a section that says Speed Control will say not present that needs to be changed to present.
5. Once that is done will need to repeat the first 3 steps
6. Speed Control Device needs be changed from disabled to cruise control...
7. Once done go on a test drive mine worked
