97 F150 stalls after new battery installed
I apologize if this question has been asked before. If so, please point me in the right direction.
This morning my battery was dead in my truck (1997 F150 4x4). Put a new battery in and now it stalls every time I let off the gas. I did what themanual said about allowing time to relearn idle(start the ignition with everything turned off and let run for a few minutes). If I turn the a/c on, it doesn't stall but ifI turn it off then it stalls when I come to a stop sign, etc. I can't drive with the a/c on the entire time! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
* I've had this truck since 1999. I love it and have had no major problems. Oil and filters are changed regularly, etc. It's got around 150k miles on it.

I'd try disconnecting the new battery and letting the truck sit for about 10 minutes. After that, hook the battery back up and go throught the process for the truck to learn idle again.

Funny thing about these newer computor systems, they learn to compensate for problems that you might have. When you replace the battery, the computor wakes up and thinks, Hey! I'm a new car/truck. It will take some time to relearn to compensate for the IAC that is dirty, or the slight vacuum leak that the pcv hose or the MAF meter that may be a bit dirty. Then again, it might never learn to correct the problem, just depends on how bad it is. You might have to have some work done on it to correct the problem.
