I think this section should not lose sight that the F-100 was the fully capable entry level pickup until the introduction of the much smaller Ford ranger pickups used to "replace" F-100. The F-100 was a dream in a decent size but cheaper on insurance due to FACTORY load capacity. If you wanted a small pickup we already had the Courier. This was Fords' "no choice" deal where they shoved small and largely useless "japscrap" trucks up our tail sections for all the girly boys to cheer about. What the heck do you haul safely in a tiny truck anyway? Your bra maybe? I couldn't even haul my couch away in one. You're likely to go around a corner and have it roll over your quarter panel.
