I think this section should not lose sight that the F-100 was the fully capable entry level pickup until the introduction of the much smaller Ford ranger pickups used to "replace" F-100. The F-100 was a dream in a decent size but cheaper on insurance due to FACTORY load capacity. If you wanted a small pickup we already had the Courier. This was Fords' "no choice" deal where they shoved small and largely useless "japscrap" trucks up our tail sections for all the girly boys to cheer about. What the heck do you haul safely in a tiny truck anyway? Your bra maybe? I couldn't even haul my couch away in one. You're likely to go around a corner and have it roll over your quarter panel. If you want gas mileage in a truck you're trying the wrong thing. I have the real info. there. It's so obvious to me this puny stuff don't fly. Stomping out the F-100 was death of possible happiness. If the ranger only grows into something like an F-100 then I would be happy. What do you think?
