The truth is hard to reckon with. I would rather put my cash into the parts that make it go - than the next dumb computer too. Axles, engines and transmissions wear out but how many of you guys actually know how to dip your own breadboards in a chemical bath and remake a computer? Now that's a pain in the ***. My '64 Galaxie 289 Auto. had no computers and got like 18MPG in a BIG car WITH a frame. And the wiring was a breeze towards the new junk. I NEVER had a wiring problem. The worst I faced with my older stuff was a bad ground maybe once in ten years. These days one stupid voltage spike could indefinitely kill your car.
