Default Buying 1983 F150! Advice!

Hi all! New to the forum and had a few questions about what I should look for when buying a truck... I am looking to buy a 1983 F150 and in the ad the guy said that there is some rust but nothing too bad. I still want to check it out for myself tho!

Where are some of the major spots that I should check for rust when I go to look at it?

Also, Is there anything I should be looking for or listening for when I am looking at the truck?

Any advice or tips would be great, thanks!

My main concern as far as rust goes would be the frame, typical ford rust is usually front and rear fenders around the trim moulding , if there is a bed liner definately look underneath to make sure bed is not rusted out. Listen to make sure there are no motor noises and look for leaks of any kind. Leaks under truck around where trans and motor connect could be either rear seal in motor, or front seal in trans or both. Leaks in front of motor or in center of motor could be front seal or oil pan gasket. Just use common sense when looking and ask questions if something doesnt look right. Just remember its old truck so may be more wrong than meets the eye.

The main spot on Chevy's is the rocker panels. Rust isn't brand specific so check frame, rocker panels, etc...
