Coolant leak 2007 f150
This is not even a ford thing but asking people with similar engine layouts might help.
After no previous problems I got home from work today and coolant starting flowing out of my engine bay as soon as I turned off my truck. I couldn’t for the life of me find where the leak was coming from but it was a steady drip almost a flow. It seemed to be more on the passenger side. I checked the reservoir and it had absolutely no coolant in it.
I waited for about 15 minutes then filled the reservoir with water and started my engine... no leak. I let it heat up to normal temp but the gauge never went over half way. Still no leak. I took off some plastic covering over the radiator to try and find where the leak was but still couldn’t. Feel like I’m going crazy and don’t want to waste more antifreeze. The hoses seemed good and I don’t think it’s a hole in the radiator.
Any ideas where it could be leaking from?

It would be helpful to know what engine you have.
Based on the year its one of the triton engines, on those the heater hoses are known to leak at the plastic T fittings, they run along the bank 1(pass side) valve cover.
Dried coolant residue usually looks like white powder, look for that first. If you don't see any wash out the engine bay with water then let it dry, fill the coolant system and with the engine running look over the entire coolant system for any coolant leaks.

The leak seems to be coming from behind the fan clutch I think. It doesn't leak very much when the truck is running. But it still over heats. I've removed the inner cooler radiator. And am Going to remove the fan shroud in the morning . I am going to share this thread https://www.fordforum.com/forum/ford-f-150-14/coolant-florida lottery-leak-2007-f150-42316/ to my kith and kin who want to know about that. I was told that I could reverse thread the clutch to remove the fan and access the water pump seal behind it. Does what I described in my earlier posts sound like it could be the water pump seal? And if so is the process I'm taking (as far as removal of components ) correct to access the water pump seal?
