I installed a Flowmaster Cat-Back system on my 04 F-150 and enjoy the throtty sound. I have also been back for warranty work and have not had any problem from the dealer. Just wanted to say I had to get one for my wife’s truck (05, RAM 1500) and hers sounds much better than mine. Reason is Ford used 4 Catalytic converters to make the system quiet. It isone of the quietest trucks out there. I am in the process of finding a high flow cat to replace the 4 with 2. They ain't cheap either....
Good luck,

Good luck,
Flowmaster and magna flow both make highflow cats for trucks, they run anywhere from 150-300dollars a peice, I know the one for my 01 Dakota with the 4.7 is 199CND. That will imporve the sound and keep the MIL from comming on.

If you want a better sound phone your local muffler shop they can price you out a high flow cat, it should be under 300dollars. And sounds killer.

Also the Hemis are a much throtier motor as is, and with the use of only 1 cat on them they are from factory a lot more rumbly then any other truck on the market, the joy's of owning a Mopar.

Your right about the Mopar sound. Before I purchased the Ford I had a Dakota as well. Wife loved the rumble from that cat back system.
Did talk to a muffler shop and have done some shopping for a new catalytic converter and they are about $300 bucks, but to keep the system semi legal I need two ($600) . I need to find out if that mod will cause any damage to the engine.

Throwing 2 High Flow Cats on a system shouldn't hurt it, what you can always do is see if you can find 2 shorter cats, that equal the size of the one original cat, then they can't nail you for anything cause you would have 2 cats. Buddy of mine in BC did that.
