Default F-150 Sluggish and Dying

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 that keeps dying. It acts like it is flooding out but not sure that is what it is. This problem is intermitent and the truck runs good most of the time. Some times it will start fine and as long as I keep my foot on the gas peddle it runs fine but when I let off of it it dies. Some days my wife will go out in the morning and this happens but when I come home in the afternoon it will start and run fine. Today it did the same thing to me as it did her. Any suggestions or ideas of what I can do or what it may be so I know what to expect if I take it to a mechanic?

Try: checking for vacuum leaks, cleaning the MAF senor, cleaning the throttle body and maybe even replacing the air & fuel filters.

I did take it to the lube place yesterday and had a three part cleaning done to the fuel injection. I did see when they removed the air filter from the throttle body that the inside was completly black. They cleaned it out very well and it seems to be idleing a lot better than it was before when it was working.

The most likely problem is the Idle Air Control valve. Cleaning it rarely reaps any long lasting benefits. Just replace it and be done with it.
