Thanks for you input. I did apologize to the owner of the first shop because I had called and complained and I wanted to let them know that the other shop did not have to do anything. Actually when I drove it yesterday, it did cut out on occasion but the service engine light is still off and it otherwise runs really smoothly (when it's not running unsmoothly!). It will have to exhibit more symptoms or have the light come on before I take it in again. Thanks and have a good Easter yourself!

 

It may take a few drive cycle trips for the computer to relearn what was erased when the battery was disconnected. This may be one of those times where patience is a virtue.
