Default f150 tps question

ok I have a 1993 ford f150 4x4 5.8 liter 351 Windsor.... how do you check the throttle position sensor (tps)?

You can use a scope or digital volt ohmmeter.
The scope is the best way, you might see a drop in the resistance reading when changing the sweep position and you might catch a glitch in the voltage reading when going through the range .

DSO, digital storage oscilloscope, ,,, some good and well equipped shops may even have a graphing multimeter. The graph line would show any present glitchs, defects.
Can I ask why you suspect the TPS ?

because ever since I unplugged it and pluged it back in my truck has been starting better I just want to be able to test it if my truck starts acting up again

It is possible you might have corrected a questionable connection.

yeah but it wont hurt testing it to make sure because it is pretty corroded inside the connectors

When we get a situation like this , it's usually best to just replace the TPS.

The info I have suggests a coast clutch solenoid circuit failure.
