F150 very uncomfortable
hey guys, i am about to buy a 07 f150 but just after decideing on the bench seats, a guy i work with said he hates his bench seats and explained to me how they are so hard and it feels like hes sitting on plywood. he also went on to tell me how he has never had a vehicle that gets such bad gas milage. hes got the 5.4 and im getting the same. Now dont think this guy just hates ford, because he loves ford. thats all he drives, he loved his 03 f150and he said he got great milage with that one and it was a 5.4 aswellbut when he updated to 07 he was dissapointed. is this somethign i should worry about before buying?.. should i get the captain chairs instead with the center consoul and is the milage really that bad?
I have a 97 right now with bench seats and the only thing i have to complain about with that one is i feel a bid cramped in it... thats all... but thats because its a regular cab.
thx
Danny

RE: F150 very uncomfortable
I can't imagine that the '07 5.4 gets much worse gas mileage that the '03 5.4.
Bench seats are what they are, a bench. The two seats with a center councel are going to be more comfortable, in general. Just like a sofa chair is more comfortable than a church pew. They probably cost more, too. It's all about personal preference. If you have a bench seat now, I would imagine that the '07 will be similar in comfort.

RE: F150 very uncomfortable
Hi i have an 05 f-150 with the 5.4 i dont think the seats are that uncomfortable although a buddy told me the back seat was hard as a rock when we went on a long trip. As far as mpg when i first bought mine it was stock and the best i was getting was 14. I have since put on bigger tires, leveled the front end, and im lucky to get 12.5 so the gas milegage in mine sucks although a guy at work has an 07 and he is getting 18 so its the luck of the draw i guess

As far as the seats, it really depends on how you're going to use the truck. If it's solely used for work, a bech seat may not be a bad idea. As far as the gas mileage...I've owned 2 dodges and a number of....chevys and so far, I'm happy with the MPG I'm getting so far.
