Default good old gear oil

what do you guys think of putting 80w90 gear oil in my 2005 ford f-150 4x4 so that my rear end does not go on me.

If doing the rear, don't forget the front as it's been turning just as much as the rear has. Your vehicle requires a 75W-90 synthetic gear lube in the front and a 75W-140 synthetic in the rear.

Front takes 3.7 pints of lube

Rear takes 5.5 pints for the 8.8 and 9.75 inch axle, while the 10.25 inch axle takes 6.9 pints.

May as well do the tranny also.
