you may have a fuel injector suck open, but it may not be, check your fuel milageon your next tank of gas to see if you are running too rich, if the coffey can looking thing has lines that go to it it is your vaccum resivuar, i suggest you leave it alone

yea i dont think the coffee can lookin thing has anything to do with vaccum lines. it has a hose that runs to it that isnt hooked to anything else and then another hose that runs to i think the ac conpressor. but im not sure and chiltons has nothing on it so i dont kno what it is.

Is it on the passenger/right inner fender well?? You may be looking at the Smog Air Pump intake filter.. Are the hoses large approx 1"?

As far as the running concern.. Ever any CEL??

Does it idle smooth consistantly, and sputter/hesistate on a hard acceleration only? Decent mid range power? If the fuel pressure/volume is falling off it will make for a flat throttle and possible misfire.. So would/could a bad Cat Conveter, but less likely.. By 'doesn't start right away', do you mean its intermittent, or that it comes on with more throttle angle or engine heat as it warms?

If no CEL/DTC's are present, and it runs OK at idle/mid range then I'd run a fuel pressure/volume test to 'at least' verify a good quantity of available fuel.. If fuel proves out, and the concern is still more of a flat/hesitation in the higher RPM's then I'd have a look at/for excessive exhaust pressure secondly..

yea i think i might just buy a new cat cuz my exhaust rusted off and fell off the other day so i have like 3 feet of tubing after the cat and thats all for my exhaust. so i might have that done while i have the une up done.
