Default hey all finally got an oldie but goodie

As y'all know I ain't been on here in while and no I still don't like fuel injection engines, that's why I don't have one any more. It costs way too much to replace parts that don't fix the problem when they screw up and quit running. now I have a 1971 ford f100 sport custom with a 302 cid 5.0 for all that don't know the old school engine sizes. since I bought it though it seems to give me few problems about every month. the first one was replacing the fuel line(s) second was repairing all the pin holes in the gas tank. third getting to replace the shift collar or putting it on the floor then had to replace the clutch then the floor shifter that I put in it broke on me and left me stranded. went out and replaced the 3 speed with a T18 4 speed, keep in mind that this thing wouldn't run at idle at all this whole time after rebuilding the carb. three times until I finally tore it back down and soaked in carb. cleaner over night now it does everything but stop when I hit the brakes now I'm having to replace both rear wheel cylinders at night and in the freezing cold I just hope that when I get done I won't have any more trouble out of it for a while until next time have a blessed Christmas and may God be with y'all

Floyd or Grindman as I'm known here

Hi Grindman:

Your story sounds as if you were complaining. But the truth is you enjoy fixing it. Right?

That's whatan oldie is good for: you get to play with the tools!

Merry x-mas

I've had way to many of these old trucks not to know how to fix them when they mess up.
This time around meaning that this truck makes the fifth one that I've had since 99. So you'd think I should know something or two about them. I know this to true fact they don't make them as tough as these any more. I just assume leave the tools alone during the winter months

Man, you got me there, I not even capitalized the "X".

Promise: I'll do better next year!

By the way, my daddy-in-law has '71 F 150. He calls it "the black knight".

The F-150 didn't come out until 1973 so your daddy in law has a 71 F100

Does anybody remember when you had to turn the hood ornament on a Ford a quarter turn to the left to open the hood ?
