Default just bought 2007 .... but bad gas miles

I just bought a 2007 5.4 L 4X4 and it only had 4 miles on it when i picked it up. The thing is awsome, i love it, but it sure as hell aint getting the mileage it should be.I have asked around and some people are telling me that the first 400-800 miles are usually the worst on gas for a vehicle, mainly because the engine has to set itself and become programmed to your driving style etc... right now im basicly getting only 10 mpg city, and thats if i drive the thing like an old man. but i have only put about 130 miles on it. Is this normal or should i be going back to the dealer and asking for them to look at the computer or something?

If this is what i should expect then thats fine, but hey.. if this is not wright... plz let me know.

Thanks alot

Danny

I just bought the same vehicle and just turned 1000 miles. I do drive like an old man and I am getting 17-18 MPG driving back and forth to work which is an 8 mile one way trip. It is a combination between city and highway.

There are also a few modifications you can make to help out on gaining MPG and a little HP. The stock air intake is one culpret. Check out some of the aftermarket air intake systems on the web. So far I have a throttle body spacer and a cold air intake system and noticed considerable HP response and better gas mileage (approx. 2-3 MPG).
