Lumbar knob removal

Lumbar **** removal
F150 with the divided seat configuration. I need to know how to remove the 2 1/2 to 3 inch diameter **** used to adjust the lumbar. I am working on a F150 2000 model and this needs to come off to get to the seat upholstery. The **** is located on the seat bottom and adjust the seat back lumbar.
I have looked for evidence of a clip retainer and pulled on the ****, but haven't figured it out. To apply more force than I already have will run the risk of breaking something. Don't want to do that. So, who knows how to remove this ****? Does it take undue force?
Thanks,
Doyle

RE: Lumbar **** removal
What holds this thing on? I have pull, pryed, and done it all, but it didn't come off. Once the bugger is off, how much force is required to get it back on? Do you have to hammer it on? I can't picture what is retaining it?
Do you think the **** will with stand a small crow bar?
I am in the trim business and to date, we have done half dozen of this type and couldn't get the **** to budge on any. Ended up cutting the cover to get it off for repairs.
Then, during reinstallation, we have to hand sew it back on. You are right, we have been unable to find a tension pin, a clip, or a screw concealed behind a pry out panel in the center of the ****. Nothing!
Manufacturers grrrh!
If I ever see one of these in a wrecking yard and no one is looking I will put the crow bar force to the **** and it will come or break! To this point I haven't wanted to pay for something I broke; and it sure tells me it is about to break when I start to apply undue force.
But, you have pulled one off? Interesting....
Oh well,
Thanks
