Plug Blow Out
HELP!!!!!Can some one help me out here.
1st ? Does any one know if FORD is going to fix this plug blow out problem on a 2004 F150 5.4? Mine just did it. Got it fixed for just a little over 200.00. I am thinking I got 7 more to go now. Truck has 72,000 miles on it
2d? After I got the plug put back in, I got a miss that my mech cant figure out. The truck computer says it is on a different cylinder then the one that blew out. We changed that plug and changed coil The truck only miss's (sometimes) when on an encline or when towing my boat. Dont do it all the time. They fixed the blown plug with that helacoil thing if that matters
3? Any clue on how to get better them 11MPG
Thanks
Billy

RE: Plug Blow Out
1. 7 more to go may never happen.
2. IDK, could be several things. I'm thinking they are unrelated and it maybe a sensor. I have a similar problem that was never diagnosed by ford mechanic. My truck gets over 19 mpg so I'm reluctant to do any tinkering/solution to the problem quests.
3. IDK, what is the rear axle ratio and what kind of driving are you doing. Stop and go, Highway high speed? -> Ummm. NO.

RE: Plug Blow Out
Thanks
I am putting it back in the shop again this Monday, It will only miss/cut out when I am never close to the guys that are working on it. So far we have changed the same plug 3 times and put on 2coils on the same cylinder. They worked on the throttle body, this last time. No Luck here
When I take it in and they check the computer and it says that aspark plug miss fired or something like that and always on the same cylinder. It only does this every once in a while, and all ways going up along hill.
Taking it back Monday again.
I used to really like my truck.
