The price is way too high. I paid about 3000 more for my F350 than that one is listed for. It also had 78000 miles on it. The dealers know what they have into the vehicle which is generally nothing, but they will tell you a nice lil story. They probably raped the person that brought it in and gave them no more than $9500 trade, then detailed it, which, no matter how much they want to tell you it does, didnt cost them a damn dime cause it was all done in house. They MAY have changed the oil, will only check the other fluids to make sure they are full and top them off if needed. They do a **** poor inspection and maybe a road test before they park it and price it. So look at it like this....
2003 Ford F150 Super Crew
Trade= $9500
Auction= $7000-$7500
Detail= (man hours) 1 hour at $95.00hr
Insp= (man hours) 1.5 hours at $95.00hr
It is a very nice truck, but those figures I bet are not far off the truth. If you are really interested in that model truck, find the one with the 6 foot bed. I know it doesnt sound like much more, but you will notice the difference when hauling things in the back.
Long of the short. With the market in the shape it is in now, I hate to see dealers over price a vehicle, but that is their job and they are damn good at what they do. Low ball the hell outta that truck if you really want it, I would seriously start an offer at 12000 or 12500. The worst they can do is laugh and say now, its there turn to haggle and come down, I dont want to see you pay more than 13500 for that truck. Your biggest assett is your ability to walk away, they hate that. They is always someone willing to work with you on a deal to sel a car and that is what they have to do to make money is sell. They more than likely only work off commision and maybe 800 a month salary if they are lucky. Use their disadvantage to your advantage. Sorry this was so long!
