Default Radio is on and nobody's home

Greetings -

First time poster here and I hate to start off with a problem but...

I have an 06 XLT SuperCrew and the radio comes on all by itself (keys are out of it and the doors are locked). "CHECK GAUGES" is displayed in the message center. A little background might be helpful. This first happened about four weeks ago. Took it into the dealer and they replaced the instrument cluster. All was well for two weeks and it happened again. Took it back to the dealer and they said it was a key issue (I had my wife's Ford Escape keys on the same keychain and it was interfering with the PATS). They reprogrammed both F150 keys, reset the computer, and I took my wife's car keys off the chain. Everything was fine for one week and now it's happened again. As it sits right now, the truck is locked, keys are in my pocket, the anti-theft light is blinking normally and the radio is on. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

"Ghost" problems like these seem to be getting more and more common. I experienced something similar in my Navigator. 2 things to check (or have checked out). Is the gem module faulty? Water can leak onto it from a leaky windshield or it could just plain go bad. Second, also have them check the ignition switch. I think that turned out to be the problem with my Nav (I hope). Good luck!
