Rear wheel wells' covers missing
Hello folks:
A couple of weeks ago while washing my 2007 F150 i noticed that the rear wheels don't have the wheel wells' molding underneath like the ones in the front tires. If you were to look eye to eye with the front wheels, you would see this hard plastic like cover surrounding the entire wheel area under the truck. It's like a weather guard of some kind under the truck so that dirt and grime doesnt get on the metal or other parts of the truck surrounding the wheel. I hope you folks know what I'm talking about.
Anyhow, I my rear whell wells do not have this andwould like to purchase it for the rear wheels if it is available, does anyone know what it's called? or most importantly where I could buy them?
thanx!

RE: Rear wheel wells' covers missing
Are you referring to the splash gaurds? Not sure about the 150's, but the S/D's lost their rear splash gaurds back in 05, along with the hood insulation blanket, and glove box light as a cost cutting measure..

Hello hayapower and thanx for your reply, I am referring to the wheel well liners. You can see a picture here of what one looks like but for a ford truck:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...spagenameZWDVW
I found some information regarding some old TSB where ford actually provided them under warranty:
The Article No. 00-1-4
Publication Date: 12/22/1999
1997-2000 F-150,F-250
Eligable under the Bumper to Bumper Waranty
Part# YL3Z-16A550-AB Splash Shield Kit
But this was a few years go as you can see. Do u know what I am talking about now?

That TSB article number has been superceded to 00-9-5 but doesn't cover the latest body builds.. Here's a few images of the earlier splash shield and undercoating application area per the TSB... There's nothing available at the dealer level for an 'add on' kit for your MY.. On my 05 F250, I added the hood blanket, as well asthe inner wheel well splash shields from an ealier MY 250 which were nothing more than die stamped/cut nylon flat panels that are bowed and pinned to bed and then attached to the lower bed panel support.. There may be something available aftermarket maybe someone else here would know, if not, then something could be fashioned to do the job..
