removing cats

No it isnt against the law to put a high flow cat, or cherry bombs, or anything like that on! It is "technically" illeagal to take out your cats if the vehicle came stock with them though. I dont have any on my truck. You can hollow them out, ant weld in pipes so it just looks like they are there though... What they don't know (cant see), wont hurt 'em!!! I also put ford racing shorty headers on my truck. I drag race with it.

well... its technically illegal to remove your cats if they came stock on your vehicle. But if your state doesnt inspect for emissions like mine does (Massachusetts), than you should be ok if the cops arn't a$$es. Anouther way to get around this problem is to punch out (hollow) the cat and incert a piece of pipe so it will look fine if they visually inspect it, but will not restrict flow, and still sound cool! good luck.

That is true as well. If you don't make the exhaust too loud the fuzz doesn't seem to care all that much. If you are too loud and give them a reason to pull you over, then you may be in a bit of hot water. They would most likely give you one of those warnings that require proof of repair or you get a fine.

Then there is the visual test, not a sniffer test at the tailpipe, but just a look under the vehicle to make sure that everything is in place. That's what they do here in Texas, in the counties that don't have the sniffer test.
