Default Slipping feeling at strong accel from stop

Looking for a place to start looking for problem on 1997 f150 Supercab. The probem is not noticable under normal driving however, if I start from a stop and accel quickly it fell like a have a slippage. There is no RPM spike on the tach.

If the RPM is not changing then its prolly in your head.

What makes you think its slipping?

The slipping that I feel is at a hard accel from stop. There is a noise that sounds from some where in the drive line that sounds like a creek and then a slip to power feeling. I have rocked the truck back and forth on flat ground to check the diff and these seem to be fine. There is no knocking noise to be heard and seems like the typical movement back and forth.

Sounds like it could be in your transfer case.

Assuming its a 4x4.

If not, I would change your trans fluid\filter.

The truck is a 4x4 with 112K. If this is the transfer case is there any checks that I can make to verify this or should I plan a trip to the transmission shop?

Thank you for your reply

What you could do is pull the plug on the T case and look for metal shavings in the fluid, run the fluid through a coffee filter, if theres shavings take it to a Shop.

If not, put it in 4x4 and try acclerating hard on dirt, and see if the condition changes.
