Default Windshield Replacement

I have a 1990 F150 Custom / 4x4 / I-6, 300 truck that has a leaky windshield. I notice that there is a chrome piece of trim around the glass. If this needs to be removed to replace the glass, can it be done without damaging it? If not, will I be able to find the trim somewhere? Last, what is the average cost to replace a windshield for this truck?

Thanks!

Default chrome trim

Before you start pulling the chrome look up the part, alot of times you can find them on ebay cheap,
however your best bet is to check your local "junkyards" you can get your parts quicker. They usually clip on, the clips are usually the problem. The clips are usually imbedded into the sealant around the windshield, sometimes they break or fly off.

The determining factor to your question about your windshield replacement is; how soon do you want it, and how much shopping are you willing to do.
While windshield replacement places have a steady stream of work, they will normally compete for your business.
My guess would be around 185 on the low end to have it installed by a small company that would come to your home and do the work. They will try to price it out for 2x's that but like I said... price shop and do not be afraid to call someplace back
