Default 2002 F-250 5.4L sputtering at speed

Just driving down the road at speed, all of a sudden I get this quick sputtering feeling, not all the time, comes and goes as it pleases. I have had the tranny service done and changed the fuel filter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know if your vehicle has coil on plug ignition? This is how it starts when a coil is going bad.

Yes it does. They have about 70K miles on them.

I don't know if this is even related to the problem your vehicle is experiencing, but there is a junction block on the left side fender well behind the power steering reservoir where the positive cable from the battery and alternator divide to supply the electrical needs to the inside of the vehicle. It is under a plastic box type cover and the cable connection has a tendency to corrode there. You might want to check it out and if necessary clean it and put some vasoline or grease on the parts exposed to the air and water. The plastic cover doesn't do too much to prevent the corrosion there.
That's just a preventive maintenance measure.

Looks like I finally figured this one out. I changed the plugs last Sunday and the coil connector for the front right plug was loose. The clip that holds it in place was broken off so it must have been sliding around a bit as I drove. I lockwired it in place and on a 400 mile run this week it ran like a champ.
