Default 2002 F-250 Diesel Starter Solenoid?

My diesel wont turn over and I get no response what so ever when the key is turned. I am thinking it is the starter solenoid, but have not tested the theory. I went online to price one and all I can find is a starter and solenoid combination. Is there any way to just get the solenoid? Or are there any other issues that could be causing this?

Batteries are good and hot, (same symtoms jumped) battery terminal connections and cable grounding connections clean/tight? Manual or automatic? If it's an automatic, check to see if it wil crank in Neutral instead of Park which may indicate the trans range sensor.. Manaul trans could be the clutch safety switch (clutch pedal position).. Possibly the ignition switch, or could be as simple as the starter relay in the central junction box (CJB), or the starter solenoid.. Starter as well, if you hear the solenoid click hard.. Be sure to check the fuses in the CJB for positions F2.31 (15 amp) and F2-61 (30 amp).. Manual trans check F.245 (10 amp) as well..

Wasn't jumped backwards (battery polarity) at any time? Can possibly burn the fusible links if so..

If you have a 12v test light it would help to pinpoint the trouble with some direction....

Yeah i tried jumping and the batteries are part near new. Still same boat. I am going to go do some probing around with my test light at lunch time to make sure that the juice is geting to the solenoid from the ignition. if so it should be the solenoid if there is juice coming from the ignition to the solenoid and none from the solenoid to the starter correct? and assuming that it is the solenoid...can you replace just the solenoid or does it have to be the solenoid and starter?
