2002 F250 AC problems
My A/C works for about 10-15 minutes and then nothing. System is charged and seems to be holding. Compressor runs fine when the ac is working. When not working a/c compressor is not working. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RE: 2002 F250 AC problems
Standard climate control is '****' style selection modes.. EATC is 'electronic' module controlled..
The A/C does blow 'cold' when the compressor runs? The compressor won't restart later on in the day anytime after the initial 10-15 normal startup/run time? When the A/C comp. drops out, check for applied voltage at the A/C cycling switch.. One legof cycling switchesconnector should have 12v (unpluged) with the A/C commanded ON.. If the compressor isn't running and the connector tests out for 12v on one leg, jump the cycling connector to simulate a closed switch and the compressor should start/run..Test only,, and not to be left jumped for extended periods.. The cycling switch/pin connectors fail on occasion.. It's located on the receiver/drier,,, (looks like a cylinder/canister with 2 larger hoses in/out and mounted to the evaporator box on the firewall) it's a 2 wire connector/switch.. Also, 'possible' A/C clutch relay if the cycling switch proves out..

RE: 2002 F250 AC problems
I had a very similar problem with my '05 f250 diesel. the a/c would work, then it would blow hot, then get cold, etc. I took it in to mechanic. they put in new low pressure switch but this didn't work. Took it back and it turned out to be a relay switch. they replaced it and no problems since. Like yours, my compressor always seemed to work and when it did work it was cold air, it just kept skipping out to hot air then back again.

Ac not working
We also have a 2002 F350 7.3 diesel. We have had probs with our ac for awhile. We have had it drained and refilled a few times. It seems to work for awhile but if we are running in town at 25mpg it will quit. When we pull our RV it will quit after a few minutes. Most times we can shut it off for 5 minutes or so and it will blow cold again for a few minutes...but then it will start to blow hot air after a bit. If we are running down the highway without any load we will get cold air for quite awhile until we head up a steep hill. Anybody with any suggestions? It was a very long trip from Michigan to Kansas with no ac
