2005 f-350 Front End Clink
On my 05 f-350 SuperDuty I have recently begun to hear a clunk coming from apparently the driver side front tire. The sound is almost exactly the same sound when you shift from 2x4 to 4x4, this truck is not 4x4 just FYI. It only happens when i hit the gas harder while just starting from a light or when i hit a really rough bump in the road.
I jacked up the front end and put it in neutral and checked the UV joints. Then I wobbled both front tires, up down, left right. The driver side tire only wobbled a very minimum up and down, the passenger side wobbled a lot up and down and minimal side to side. I already took into account for worn joints, tie rods, ect. I took off the passenger side tire and wobbled just the hub. I see the movement about a 1/16 of an inch going up and down.
I believe it is the bearings, I don't want to take the hub off during a holiday since with my luck the bearings will fall out also.
Is it the bearings, hub, or both, or am I barking up the wrong tree to begin with?
