Default 2010 5.4 Sluggish acceleration?

I’m interested in purchasing a 2010 F350 SRW 4x4 with a 5.4. I’m a few hundred miles away from the truck but it seems to be in good shape. My father lives nearby and test drove it and said it all seemed good except he had to give it more gas than he thought he would to get it going. It has axle code 4N (4.10 limited slip to the best of my knowledge). It shifts smooth. I don’t know if this is normal for an 11 year old truck with a small engine. For comparison he drives a 2017 150 with the 3.6 ecoboost so his truck is smaller, lighter and more powerful. Can anyone confirm if this is normal or could something be wrong. The truck will mostly be a back and forth to work company truck that will pull a dump trailer a few times a week and rarely a 10k track skid steer in the hills of Central NY. I know it’s not ideal but my boss is to cheap for a 6.7 and we are to afraid of a 6.4. Can’t seem to find a 6.2 with less than 100k in his price range.

for reference it’s a ‘10 extended cab long bed 4x4 lariat with 94k seller asking 16,900.

16.9 is a really cheap asking price for that year no? especially for a 4x4. if anything get something older and a bit lighter duty, does it have to be an f350 if its only doing that? seems like over kill
