2020 ford f250 diesel power stroke engine light
We ordered a 2020 Ford 250 diesel power stroke in December. We didn't need all the bells and whistles that were on the trucks in the lots. We just needed a basic to use for farming and pulling a livestock trailer. We got the truck beginning of March. First few months, it was great. Starting in July, truck engine light came on. We called the dealership, made appointment to get checked but truck batteries were dead the next am. Had to have truck towed. Since batteries were dead, they couldn't get the code to determine the problem. It happened six more times and they were able to get codes. They have replaced electrical components and computer cells? and then the computer itself. I didn't know all the terminology. It ran fine for two weeks and yesterday, the check engine light came on. It is back in the shop for the 7th time! Now, Ford engineers want to install a "wire harness" but my son told me tonight that he thinks this is a quick fix and will not solve the problem. Has anyone else had problems with a computer and check engine light on a 2020 Ford F-250?
Is a wire harness a bad idea? Is Ford just trying to patch the problem? Any insight is appreciated.
