Default 6.0 Problems

How is it all I hear is people seem to want to slam the 6.0 all the time saying it has all these problems. But when asked what the problemsare they can't seem to name any of the top of their heads. Sound like a bunch of parrots to me. Rumours rumours rumours, wars have started over less. Hear say junkies.

Default RE: 6.0 Problems

I researched diesels for months before I bought my dodge Cummins and I can very well tell you issues withthe powerstroke.Well let's see Ford 6.0 problems, well for one the exhaust gas reburn causes excess build up of carbon junk on the exhaust side of the turbo which then the turbo blows out. This is also caused by the fact that the turbo ford uses in the 6.0 is barely rated to handle what the 6.0 pushs out. Thenthe heads have issues with warping which causes head leaksthat or the gaskets go causing leaks at early mileage. Many have issues with the oil fired injectors not working properly, overall just poor running, underpowered. I can go on and on, ur best bet to verify for urself is to go on google and search the 6.0 you'll see for yourself.

I always bought ford but I wouldn't buy a 6.0 They also have problems with massive oil leaks and injectors going bad. My friend has a 06 F350 with 29,000 miles on it aford hasalreadly replaced 4 injectors.

Hayapower,
What kind of upgrades did you do? I'm going to be towing a 32ft 10,000lb fifth wheel and would like to boostmy 05 6.0a little. I've read many of your posts and find you to be a no nonsense knowledgable individual.

I have a 2006 6.0L in the shop right now with 64K highway miles and had8 injectors replaced. I also had problems with the air to air charge coupler kept blowing off while towing. I modified the charge tube and put on a industrial hose with new tower clamps to keep the tube coupled.[:@]

Default Tube Blow Off

It is fixable by using standard Ford parts and some items from the local parts store. Ford now knows about this fix and a Tech bullentin has been out for quite some time. The oil leaks I have are between the engine and the pillow or spacer.
