I’m new to this or any Forum so plz forgive me if i get it wrong. I have a question about a motor swap in a truck. Its an 84 F250 4X4 with a manual transmission and a 7.5 with smog crap all over the place. I have an 85 7.5 that i want to put in it. I know it should be a straight up swap but its not. I need to delete all the smog crap and drop in the motor old school. I swapped a 350 for a 400 in my chevelle in high school. It was simple and straight up. No smog crap. So it was basically transmission, exhaust, fuel line, a few wires for alternator, and a few other things. Now I'm trying to help my son put a motor in this truck and it has me stumped. Can anyone tell me if i can just block all the smog equipment and hook it up with just the necessary basic stuff or do I need a new intake manifold and carb and distributor? Ive been searching on the web for weeks and cant seem to get a straight answer. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
