Cab Marker Light Replacement Problem
Hey y'all,
I've recently attempted to upgrade my cab marker lights to LEDs, however, after install I'm not getting them to work. To the best of my knowledge, the previous lights simply grounded to the body of the truck via a metal clip located around the screws, but the new lights have a ground wire. Currently, the ground wires are wrapped around the screws penetrating the body. I've bought supplies to install a wire that leads to ground elsewhere in the vehicle if necessary, but I'm having difficulty finding an exact spot to secure this wire. Any advice??
A basic overview of the parts that came with the kit and the extra pieces I have obtained are below.

You will need to partially remove the front part of the headliner to do this.. Just take your time and don't damage anything. You will need to remove the two sun visors and a few pieces of plastic trim If you feel you are getting in too deep , stop while you are ahead and maybe someone will offer an alternate procedure.
You will probably find the wire that brought power up to the lamps presently on the roof..
You can snake another wire down the same path , usually the door pillar where the driver's door hinges are and connect the new wire to a good ground that is easy to get access to. It's a little bit of work, but clean and pretty easy to do. Since it is going to be a ground wire no need to be concerned with it contacting any sharp edges.
