crossmember holes
i have a '71 F250 and am putting a '75 460 and C6 in. now i know i can just test fit it in but would like to hear what other people have done. i have 2 sets of holes in the frame on each side that held the 360 C6 that was in it when i got it. it only uses 1 on each side. i don't remember which ones were used as it's been a while since i took it out. besides, i don't know if it would matter since the 360 doesn't mount the same as the 460. i have the steel mounts for the frame on the 460 and like i said, i could just put it in to find out which ones to use, but figure what are forums for if not to ask dumb questions.

Invest in a bubble protractor.
You measure the angle at the flange/tailshaft of the trans and compare that to the angle of the driveshaft when connected to the trans. You would choose the holes that provide the lower difference between the two angles.

hanky. that might work but i can't move the engine forward and back words as the motor mounts have holes in the frame too. i will just mount the motor mounts where they go on the frame and that will dictate what holes i have to use. i don't think i made it plain enough. the 2 holes in the frame are only about 2 inches apart. the frame is flat there. they look like they are for when you put a different engine and trans in. sbf c4 trans or something like that. thanks for the reply, gary
