Greetings from a new member who would appreciate some help in an area he knows very little about. I have a 2005 ,diesel 4x4 crew cab with a camper that weighs approx. 2800 lbs , with 25K miles. I toke it off road and encountered a problem I do not understand. I ran into a situation going up hill climbing boulders were the front wheels got stuck in a crevice. In low range,4x4 with the throttle to the floor and the tech. at approx. 3000RPM no wheels were turning.Suddenly there was a very loud BOOM and the engine shut down. I thought I had destroyed something but the engine started again and I tried to move forward with the same results. I do not understand how the truck could not move , no wheels turning, and the tech showing 3000 RPMs. I toke the truck to the dealer and he found no problems. How can this occur? Any insight would be most appreciated.
