Default F-350 Exhaust Leak 2008

2008 F-350 has a weird exhaust leak in that it leaks into the A/C system and therefore choking out the driver. Have taken it to a shop and they have yet to find the issue and I have searched for this issue as well. The turbo was changed as a result of a bad part or age but not sure what could be causing this.

Any and all help is appreciated

Good Morning HandyMoe,
You didn't say whether it was a diesel or gas engine, but in either case there have been instances of a cracked exhaust manifold being the culprit. If its a diesel it will be difficult to pin down because of the noise factor. If a gas engine you can usually hear something that will tip you off as to the location. A piece of hose near the ear and searching around the exhaust system when the engine is cold and running sometimes makes it easier to locate,, if that is the problem. Sometimes a poor seal around the turbo, if a diesel, lets fumes loose under the hood and the air intake picks them up.

Thanks I will try to look into that. Like I said we had a shop replace the turbo on the diesel engine. I don't trust the shop too much due to some issues but that is who we have the contract with.

If you run the engine more than approx 20 seconds the turbo will get hot and the test will be faulty. What you can try is to spray some soap water solution around the exhaust side of the turbo where it is connected to the pipe when you first start the cold engine. If there is an exhaust leak you will see the bubbles.
