Default F350 6 liter fuel mileage

My new truck now has about 10,000 miles, weather is warmer and my mileage is still in the 13 to low 15mpg range. Doesn't seem to matter how I drive it, it stays the same except when I drove from NH to Utah towing 2 buggies to go rock crawling, then I got 8.1 average but I was heavy at 23,000lbs. My 99 used to get 18 most of the time or better on trips. Wondered what others are getting?

Most powerjoke guys I talk to are getting the same mileage as you are. approx 14-18 unloaded and lower loaded. I sort of chuckle at the face they make when I tell them that my Dodge Cummins with 3000 miles is getting 20 mpg at the moment. And will get even better as i break in the engine.

I'm getting around mid 16 to low 17 range now and this last weekend I towed 8000lbs and still got 16.7 with it. This is what I was expecting from the beginning. Not sure what changed except now the check engine light is on and i'm scared to take it in for service.......
