Default F350 electrical problem

Hi

I have a 2002 Ford F350 Lariat Super Duty V10 Auto Trans 4x4 172"WB Single Rear Wheel 9900GVW Pick Up. I parked the truck in the pm as usual and locked the doors using the key fob. The next am when I returned the headlights were on - only the headlights. I checked the switches and they were in the off position. I started the truck and drove as usual. When I turned the truck off the headlights stayed on - only the headlghts. I removed the light switch and the lights stayed on. I removed three fuses and the lights went out along with the interior lights, etc. I put the fuses back in and sometimes the lights are on and somtimes they are off. The back up sensors and the backup lights are now staying on intermittently even when the truck is not in reverse. To the best of my knowledge the truck is not equipped with daytime running lights. I have owned the truck since new and it now has 194,000 miles on it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

[sm=welcomesign.gif]I dont know if the head light's are part of the alarm system.[hr]But the interior light not going off sounds like a classic door switch problem.[hr]Spray the door switch's with wd-40 and slam the door's a few times until the door light goes out.

As a first step...

Look at the CJB (central Fuse box) back side under the dash, as well as the Gem module, and also look on up towards the cowl area.. You can follow the CJB wire harness on up.. Do you see any water tracking, (new or old) rust, or any indication of corrosion on the back of the CJB in the form of green corrosion ect? What sometimes can happen, is the windshields (especially if prior repalcement/s) can leak, and the water will collect on the 'inside' of the lower winshield/cowl area and then drip and run on down the harness into both the Gem Module and the CJB.. Either by being wet, or if enough corrsion takes place 'inside' the fuse panel it can make for some very disturbing issues!! We had one we 'nick named' Christine.. It would occasionally crank the engine with no one around, interior lights might come on, and a few other strange events.. Good thing it was an automatic!!! Kind of an odd collection of problems you have, but windshield leaks are a known issue for the
SD, either by a replacement, body flex causing the OEM sealant to fail, or a bad seal from the factory.. Maynot be the problem but worth a look see....

My 02 f250 is having similar issues. The lights were on all by their self. The heater fan would blow on it's own. It would not go into drive unless I TURNED THE LIGHT ON. I took it to the dealer yesterday afternoon to check out and do a recall. Well doing the recall first they broke and item and now I am in a loaner for the weekend due to no replacement item in stock. Will let you know the results. This truck has not been wrecked and the windshield has not been replace.

Hello I am haveing a few new issues the past few days with my 02 350 4x4. 1st started with radio coming on in middle of night, with has changed to staying on at all times now along with the windows having power to them at all times too. And today my wipers just started running on there own when I started the truck along with the other issues. I have sprayed the doors with wd, removed fuses, cleaned and replaced battery's and cable ends. Any idea what the issue could be or we're to start the trouble shooting process.
