Default Gooseneck hitch removal

I have a new 2006 F250 that I bought to pull my new 2006 5th wheel camper. Out of ignorance I had a flip over goosneck ball installed on my truck and a gooseneck adapter installed on the pin box of my 5th wheel. recently I found out that this may void the frame warrantly on my 5th wheel. I have'nt pulled it yet so am haveing second thoughts now. My best option is to get the 5th wheel hitch, however they will have to remove the goosneck hitch. This will leave a shoe box size hole in the rear bed. Anyone have any advice? i have thought of bolting two 1/4" plates to the bed. One on top and the other on the bottom and through a rubber matte in the bed. Out of sight-out of mind, I guess. Live and learn ( about $1200.00 worth).

Default RE: Gooseneck hitch removal

why do you need a half inch of plates in there? just weld in a piece of sheet metal and paint it with a bed liner
